We have seen many families come to us for food vouchers and know that hunger is prevalent in our community.
It is our view that a hungry child is not a child who can best learn. Currently funding for free school meals for nursery aged children is not available which is different compared to funding arriving in primary schools for reception aged and many infant aged children.
Our attainment data shows that we have many children eligible for free school meals and they are performing well as a cohort group, however in 2016/17 we have prioritised the needs of this cohort for further special attention hoping that they may gain the very best opportunities in learning to help them in their future. Our school is actively involved in the Feeding Bristol campaign and works with many partner organisations to ensure hunger is eliminated.
